Week of the Young Child 2021: Tasty Tuesday

Posted by CRCC in Coddington Road Community Center Blog
As we continue to celebrate Week of the Young Child, a number of our Coddington classrooms participated in Tasty Tuesday. The Tiger Room worked on their fine motor skills by slicing grapes and strawberries. The Turtle Room enjoyed a raw veggie rainbow snack with hummus and cottage cheese. We also want to take a moment to thank Ms. Angie who prepares healthy and nutritious meals each day for the children at our center. We wish we had more pictures to share, but we were too busy snacking on all our healthy treats.
Does your family have a favorite meal or snack that you like to prepare and enjoy together?

Staff Appreciation Day at Coddington Road Community Center

Posted by CRCC in Coddington Road Community Center Blog
Today usually signals the beginning of a new school year, even in child care. There isn’t anything “usual” about this year or this day in 2020, but at Coddington we hit the pause button and took a minute to say thank you to the entire team. Individual posters for each person were used to share special comments that we have received from families and co-workers, a gift was given with a special smile mask (shout out to Tompkins Mask Makers), their favorite dessert and a little flower to remind them that everyday they are helping others grow. Lastly, we gave them a day to go and relax, take deep breaths, rest and release some of the stress they have been carrying. Thank you Coddington staff for all of what you have done, whether for a few months or many years, thank you!
Closing for a day isn’t an easy feat, we know that child care is essential and juggling probably had to take place. Thank you to our families for your understanding, your kind words (especially in the last few months), your patience as we all adjust to the new normal and for trusting us with your children.

Look at the concentration! A camper and a counselor took a moment to try and replicate their favorite action figures. This activity is easy to replicate at home. All you need is a piece of paper, drawing utensil and a favorite toy or action figure to draw.

Arts and crafts are one of the many activities enjoyed by campers at Camp Coddington to register your child or learn more, please visit www.coddingtonroad.org/camp or email CRCCyouthprograms@coddingtonroad.org.
