Camp Coddington is an outdoor summer camp located on 12 acres of beautiful woodland. We promote a family atmosphere with children of different ages mixing for activities based on interest and choice. We provide a schedule of structured activities in a wide variety of areas, as well as opportunities for children to participate in self-directed play within supervised boundaries. Our weekly themes encourage and support imaginative play, and value creativity. Coddington Road Community Center keeps summer fun and adventurous with Camp Coddington! 

Camp Highlights

* Camp Coddington is open to children entering kindergarten through 8th grade.* K-camp will be located at our Ithaca College site, including an indoor classroom space and a variety of outdoor play areas.*  Elementary and middle school camp groups will operate at our Coddington Road site, shelter spaces and group sizes have been adjusted to accommodate temporary construction barriers.* Camp Coddington is an outdoor based summer camp program, utilizing shelters and portable restroom facilities.* We operate a paid Counselor-in-Training program for adolescents 15 to 17 years old, along with unpaid internship program for adolescents in in middle school to 14 years of age; click here for additional information.* Campers are assigned weekly to a shelter group at one of our outdoor pavilions. If you are registering with a friend or have questions about which group your child will be in, please inquire during the registration process.* Camp Coddington maintains a maximum ratio of 1 counselor per 12 campers.  Their role is to guide, care for, and help children choose activities, get involved, and make new friends. Additional staff are assigned as needed. Staff are supervised by the Camp Director.* Several activities are scheduled throughout the day including: arts and crafts, field games, sports, woodland hikes, campfires, wilderness skills and unique kid and counselor developed projects. Throughout the summer we have a variety of local guests, cool events, and weekly themes to keep camp fresh and exciting!

2024 Program Updates

K-Camp at our Ithaca College Site: K-Camp is for children entering kindergarten in the fall. This camp group will be located at our Ithaca College site in the Circle Apartments Community Center and not at the Coddington Road Community Center location. With the location change, K-campers will still spend the majority of their day outside as camp will have access to the large open fields, sports practice fields, onsite trails and more. 

Middle School Camp Group Structure: Middle school campers enrolled will be placed in an existing camp group with similar aged peers. They will have various program choices throughout the day, including some activities specific to their age group. Middle schoolers with at least one year prior camp experience at Camp Coddington AND at least age13 can also choose to enroll as Junior CIT’s (see below).  

Junior CIT Program: Middle school campers with at least one year prior attendance at Camp Coddington AND at least age 13 can apply for the Junior CIT program. Junior CITs are placed in a camp group where they will enjoy all the traditional camp activities, while acting in the capacity of a camp volunteer. Due to the age of participants in this program, the youth need to be registered as campers, however we are offering a 50% discount on camp tuition for weeks that the youth participate in the Junior CIT program. There is a limit of 4 Junior CITs per week. Participation is voluntary; however, youth must agree to participate in order to receive the discount. Enrollment Options

* All programs run Monday through Friday. Please note Camp Coddington is closed, Thursday, July 4th 2024.

* Rates include the cost of all daily activities and events, including a snacks. Campers supply their own lunch.

* Add-ons are available for before/after care, before care only or after care only for an additional fee.

Weekly Camp Rates & Before/After Care Add-Ons

* Camp runs from Monday 7/1/2024 to Friday 8/30/2024 with weekly sign-ups.

* There is a late pick-up fee of $1 per minute in all programs.

Registration & Payment Schedule

* There is a $25 per child registration fee. Please select the $25 non-refundable, per-child registration fee at checkout. If not selected at registration, this fee will be added to your account.

* In addition to the registration fee, a deposit of $100 for each week selected is required in order to secure your child’s spot, plus any add-ons. If you need to make a payment arrangement, please email CRCCcamp@coddingtonroad.org to start the process.

* A second payment is due by March 30, 2024 in order to maintain your enrollment and must be equal to at least 1/2 of the remaining balance due.

* The final balance is due by April 30, 2024. Enrollment may be revoked unless you have fulfilled all payment requirements by April 30, 2024.

* Payment in full is due at time of submission for any registration submitted after April 30. 2024, please select the $25 non-refundable, per-child registration fee at checkout.

Cancellation Policy 

If you must cancel enrollment, our refund policy is below. Please note there are no penalties applied if you need to switch enrollment to another week as long as spaces are available.

  • If you cancel before March 30, 2024 you are entitled to a refund of any fees paid minus the $25 registration.
  • If you cancel between March 30, 2024 and April 30, 2024, CRCC will retain your $25 registration fee and half of your deposit paid ($50 per week).
  • If you cancel after April 30, 2024 there will be no refund unless your spot can be filled from our waitlist.

Scholarships & Payment Arrangements

New York State helps income-eligible working parents pay for child care, including summer camp. Please call Tompkins County Department of Social Services at (607) 274-5612 for eligibility.

Coddington Road Community Center has a limited amount of funds for partial scholarships. A scholarship request must be made in writing along with your registration. Proof of income and need is required.
