Our Philosophy
Camp Coddington is an outdoor summer camp located on 14 acres of beautiful woodland. We promote a family atmosphere with children of different ages mixing for activities based on interest and choice. We provide a schedule of structured activities in a wide variety of areas as well as allowing children to participate in self directed play within supervised boundaries. We offer preplanned choices, encourage and support imaginative play, and value creativity. Coddington keeps summer fun and adventurous!
The Overview
The camp is inspected and permitted by the Tompkins County Health Department. Children entering 1st - 8th grade are eligible to enroll. Our campers are assigned by age to a campsite at one of our outdoor pavilions. The sites are used for roll calls, snack, shelter and special site meetings or activities. Each site has counselors who are specifically responsible for the children they are assigned. They are to guide, care for, and help children choose activities, be involved and make new friends. Staff will be supervised by the Camp Director. Our camp is an all outdoor program with outdoor amenities.
We offer swim trips to Cass Park twice a week. Several activities are scheduled throughout the day and choices include; arts & crafts, field games, sports, woodland hikes, campfires and unique kids-n-counselor dreamed up projects. Throughout the summer we have a variety of local guests, cool events and weekly themes to keep camp fresh and exciting each week!

Counselor-in-Training Program
Camp Coddington is known for our successful CIT programs. The CIT Program is open to teens who are interested in learning leadership and job skills. The opportunity is a fun-filled way of exploring basic job skills. We focus on specific skills relating to becoming a camp counselor, teambuilding, communication, and volunteering.
The morning includes a workshop period and time assigned to a senior counselor who will guide the CIT in helping to carry out activities and tasks for their group. Successful CIT's will attend regularly, earnestly participate in the instruction program and follow the guidelines presented by the Director.
The CIT program requires a four week commitment of two, 2-week sessions that run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. The CIT may arrive anytime after 7:30 a.m. but must arrive by 8:30 a.m. A snack is included and the CIT may bring a lunch if desired. The fee for the 4 week CIT program is $250.00 Extended camp days and additional camp weeks are available.
CIT applicants must be at least 13 years old or entering 8th grade.
Advanced CIT Program
The Advanced CIT program is open to teens who completed one year of a CIT program. Training will review and expand on concepts and skills learned in the first year and include new adventures, challenges and responsibilities. Advanced CIT's earn a $300.00 stipend upon successful completion of the 4-week program. Positions are limited and candidates will be chosen based on their application and a written interview. If the applicant is accepted there is a $100.00 activity fee for the program. Advanced CIT applicants must be at least 14 years old or entering 9th grade.
Junior Counselor Program
